Q: What are the differences between microprocessor and micro controller.

Q: What are the differences
between microprocessor and
micro controller.

Answer: The microprocessor is the
integration of a number of useful
functions into a single IC package.
These functions are: The ability to
execute a stored set of instructions
to carry out user defined tasks. The
ability to be able to access external
memory chips to both read and
write data from and to the
memory. Basically a
microcontroller is a device which
integrates a number of the
components of a
microprocessor system onto a
single microchip. So a
microcontroller combines onto the
same microchip : The CPU core
Memory (both ROM
and RAM) Some parallel digital I/ O
Essentially a microcontroller is
obtained by integrating the key
components of microprocessor
RAM ROM and Digital I/O onto the
same chip die. Modern
microcontroller s also contain a
wealth of other modules such as
Serial I/O Timers and Analogue to
Digital Converters.

Q) Why a single phase induction motor is not self starting?

Q) Why a single phase induction motor is not self starting?

A) When the stator winding of a single phase induction motor is connected to a single phase ac supply, a magnetic field is developed, which is only alternating not a rotating field and this alternating flux acting on rotor cannot produce rotation,as it can be done only by rotating magnetic field(RMF).
According to double revolving field theory, this alternating flux can be resolved in to two components namely forward and backward component and both have same magnitude but rotating in opposite directions. say forward component tries to rotate the rotor in one particular direction ,then backward component tries to rotate it in opposite direction, hence the net torque developed at the timing of starting is zero. However, if the rotor is given a push by hand or by other means in either direction, it will pick-up the speed and continue to rotate in the same direction developing operating torque. Thus a single induction phase induction motor is not inherently self starting requires some special means for starting.

charged a phone using lightning!

The University of South Hampton successfully charged a phone using lightning!

While this is a bizarre proof-of-concept, the experiment shows how devices can be charged by electricity in the air. http://bbc.in/GzAZ9I

Corona discharge on corona ring of 500 kV overhead power line !!

which power is dangerous AC? or DC ?

for a given voltage AC Is more dangerous than DC . even 20volt AC cause shock. nd 3 times effect of dc is AC in effect. bt once person got electrocuted scope of escaping from source is with AC only ,due to presence of natural zero . bt with DC there no chance of being released from supply.unless supply is removed. hence DC is dangerous from this point of view. also with DC causes muscles to be contracted in only one direction which is serious.-kmr-

The Hindu : Cities / Hyderabad : 'Let there be debate on hate hoopla'

Its quite depressing to see not only old but young politicians making such ludicrous comment for little political mileage or popularity

On Tuesday, the police went to his house in Banjara Hills here and took him to the Gandhi Hospital, where a team of five doctors examined him thoroughly and gave a clean bill of health.

The arrest of Mr. Owaisi triggered tension in several parts of the city, notably the old Hyderabad areas, where the police deployed forces in good numbers and stepped up patrolling.

Restive MIM workers, who gathered at the hospital, jostled with the police and hurled stones at vehicles, forcing the police to resort to lathi-charge.

The decision to arrest the MLA came after Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy held consultations with Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan, after being briefed by DGP V. Dinesh Reddy.

Mr. Owaisi’s lawyer, Mohd. Shafiduddin objected to the manner in which the arrest was made. He claimed that Mr. Owaisi’s request to allow him to go home and have lunch was turned down.

“The MLA was whisked away without informing us where he was being taken to,” he said. Mr. Owaisi was suffering from ‘acute pain’ due to hernia, and had undergone three surgeries, he added.
